This project was created to establish priorities; develop a monitoring strategy; and explore challenges and opportunities for strengthening prevention and early intervention of mental health needs in California. The Commission will explore best practices implemented in California and elsewhere, as well as opportunities for increasing collaboration with private and public partners and systems. The project includes community engagement, policy and research review, and an analysis of available data. The Commission will develop the plan with community members and will leverage previous and current efforts.
The Prevention and Early Intervention Subcommittee is chaired by Commissioner Mara Madrigal-Weiss and includes Commissioner Mayra Alvarez.
The goal of this effort is to create a more focused approach to delivering effective prevention and early intervention services and increasing coordination and collaboration across communities and mental healthcare systems.
